  • Perform thorough internal investigations in response to complaints of Sheriff's staff
  • Eliminate favoritism and bias
  • Comply with all Federal and State guidelines on investigations, including interrogation of juveniles
  • Require deputies to obey all traffic and criminal laws they enforce
  • Hold deputies accountable for their actions
  • Form citizens' review board for review of critical incidents

  • Maintain consistent and professional appearance
  • Ensure that all personnel are courteous to the public at all times

Services

  • Ensure that all citizens are afforded the same reasonable, ethical and professional service
  • Develop for distribution a pamphlet to include community resources and victims' rights information
  • Upgrade Sheriff Department web site to include criminal activity and other relevant community information including rumor control
  • Implement citizen surveys to gauge effectiveness of Sheriff's Office and to determine areas of concern from the community
